Public Service Television in the Digital Age: Strategies and Opportunities in Five South-East European Countries, 2008

This regional comparative study gathers ten media experts (researchers) providing insights on the challenges and opportunities related to public service television in six countries of the Southeast Europe.
The digitalisation process, difficulties related to the advertising market, and the transformation of the state to public media that still have not been finalised in some of the countries, are all setting many challenges for public broadcasters. The goal of the research was to provide an overview of existing and potential policies, as well as to provide recommendations for further development of public service (TV) programming in the digital age.
