Biography

Aidan White is an international consultant on press rights and journalistic ethics. He works for numerous major international agencies (UN, UNESCO, Council of Europe, OSCE) on activities and programmes designed to promote ethical standards and good governance in media. He is Director of the Ethical Journalism Network, a global campaign promoting good governance and ethical conduct in media. He is a long-time campaigner for journalists' rights and is a former activist with the National Union of Journalists in Great Britain and Ireland. He served as the General Secretary of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) for 24 years, which he joined from The Guardian newspaper in 1987. He has worked as a reporter, feature writer, sub-editor, and editorial manager for leading regional and national newspapers in Britain. (Source: Internews)
