Analysis “Development of the Media in Macedonia according to the UNESCO Indicators”, 2012

The analysis of the media landscape in Macedonia according to the indicators developed by UNESCO, was for the first time conducted by the Macedonian institute for Media in 2012.

It is a profound analysis of the actual situation in five broad areas, which are a compound part of each media system and reflect its level of development. The analysis provides answers to the following questions: Whether there is a system of regulation conducive to freedom of expression, pluralism and diversity of the media? Is there plurality and diversity of media? What is the situation on the market as a level economic playing field and is there transparency of ownership? Are the media a platform for democratic discourse? What is the   professional capacity of the institutions that underpin freedom of expression, pluralism and diversity? Is infrastructural capacity sufficient to support independent and pluralistic media?
