Experts formulate principles of conduct for press councils

The suggestions are of general character, but especially relevant for journalistic self-regulation in countries in transition.
The recommendations address the composition of press councils and their committees, as well as funding and transparency of work procedures. Furthermore, ethical standards and public relations of press councils are referred to. They were developed within the framework of an expert symposium organised by the Konrad- Adenauer- Stiftung (KAS) Media Program in Belgrade in October 2013.
