South East European Media Observatory organises a regional conference on anti-corruption in the media systems in the countries of South East Europe. It will be held on 1 December 2014 in Ljubljana under the same title as its regional research report »Media integrity matters«.
The conference will gather and connect key actors of anti-corruption in state system and in civil society with other group of civil society organisations committed to protect media freedom and media integrity. The participants will discuss the patterns of corrupt relations and practices in the media systems in the countries of South East Europe, learn about capacities and experiences with anti-corruption in this field, and discuss potential measures against corrupt relations/practices in the media systems which can be developed in a systematic way through the state system and with civil society engagement.
More than 30 participants have confirmed participation. The conference is supported and will be attended by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Slovenia Mr. Goran Klemenčič, former President of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption.
